Artist biography

Mariem Akmal is a multidisciplinary artist from Cairo, blending sound and color to craft immersive audio-visual experiences. Now 24, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Mural Studies from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, Egypt.

Inspired by music, she often titles her pieces after songs that shape them. Her distinctive approach has earned recognition from artists like Willow Smith and Mild Orange.

Through bold colors, rich textures, and metaphorical references to people and animals, she explores her neurodivergent experience, delving into identity, emotion, and human connection.
